FIELD: metallurgy, possibly manufacture of ingots in casting molds. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of supplying metal into intermediate vessel and from which through draining branch pipe to ingot molds; using source of permanent magnetic field in zone of draining branch pipe; setting conditions providing laminar mode of liquid metal flowing and determining according to such conditions density of permanent magnetic field and length of draining branch pipe; providing lowered rate of metal stream due to action of magnetic field in order to receive laminar metal flow at outlet of draining branch pipe. EFFECT: reduced pressure, lowered specific effort of stream collision with bottom of ingot mold causing no scum occurring, enhanced quality of ingots. 4 cl, 1 dwg, 1 ex
