FIELD: thermal power stations for burning badly ballasted fuels. SUBSTANCE: furnace has combustion chamber 1 divided into peripheral combustion chambers 6 and central combustion chamber 5 by inner shield 3. Cylindrical inserts 13 and 14 mounted in peripheral combustion chambers 6 between inner and outer shields 3 and 4 are in tight contact with these shields. Shields 3 and 4 are located between upper and lower bypass ports 7 and 8. Inserts 13 and 14 have slots 16, 17 and 18 located opposite air nozzles 9 and bypass ports 7 and 8 and slots 15 located opposite burners 2. Slots 15 and 16 are connected with outlet ends of burners 2 and nozzles 9 and slots 17 and 18 are provided with welded spacers 19 and 20 which are used to connect their perimeters with perimeters of bypass ports 7 and 8. Inner shield 3 is connected to common circulating system of boiler in break between second stage of water economizer and steam cooler of steam superheater, thus excluding slagging of shield 3 and providing for external cooling of inserts 13 and 14.
