FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: process can be used in operations of deep surface grinding accomplished on machines with numerical control. Process of deep surface grinding with odd number of strokes includes transition from one working stage to another with achievement of formed dimension. Parts are worked during working stroke in forward and backward directions with the use of one of two controlling programs drawn in advance. Coordinate of finishing point of first program corresponds to coordinate of starting point of second program, coordinate of finishing point of second program corresponds to coordinate of starting point of first program. Parts are put in sequence into corresponding fixed positions determined by coordinates of starting points of corresponding controlling programs.
