FIELD: ceramic coatings. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to enameling low- carbon electrodes and, in particular, to compositions for silicate coatings used as dielectric barrier for parts of devices, and also for electrodes of ozone generators. Coating consists (in wt %): SiO2, 37.6-40.0; Na2O 7.1-8.2; B2O3, 1.2-3.6; K2O, 0.7-3.3; CaO, 2.0-2.3; Li2O, 2.9-3.3; SrO, 2.0-3.6; ZrO2, 1.8-4.9; Na2SiF6, 0.6-3.6; CoO, 0.6-1.1; and SrTiO3, 28.6-41.2. Coating is prepared by applying ground enamel onto specially treated surface of low-carbon steel object, whereupon coating enamel is applied. Strontium titanate is added to the two ceramic slurries prior to be ground. Coating is reliable in operation, possesses high value of dielectric permittivity (20-27) and electric strength (≅ 44 kV/mm), small dielectric loss (tg10-4=35 to 40 x δ). EFFECT: improved performance characteristics. 3 tbl
