METHOD OF SELECTION OF OBJECT Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: detection and ranging, passive methods of selection of space objects against complex non-uniform background. SUBSTANCE: method of selection of object consists in reception of radiation from object and background at time moments τ₁ and τ₂,, in subtraction of formed images, in selection of object by resulting image, in additional registration of object and background at time moment τ₃, with τ₃> τ₁, τ₂, in formation of second differential image by subtraction of second and additional images registered at time moment τ₃, in conversion of first and second differential images to two-gradation ones, in matching of first and second converted differential images and in isolation of first selector field as region of first differential image not matching second differential image. Then second selector field is isolated as common region of first and second differential images. Third selector field is isolated as region of second differential image not matching second selector field. Fragments corresponding to first, second and third selector fields are isolated from first and additional images at time moment τ₃. They are summed up and image of object is enhanced.
