MASS-TRANSFER COLUMN Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: devices for conduction of mass-transfer processes, such as absorption, rectification, humidification, particular, in the processes of vacuum rectification in chemical, petrochemical, food and other industries. SUBSTANCE: the offered column has contact members in form of truncated cones perforated with arch holes. Truncated cones are staggered on trays. Cone bases are secured in upper tray and truncated tops of cones with ports are secured in lower tray. In so doing, cone bases protrude beyond tray plane and made with slots. Arch holes are located on cones in horizontal rows and directed to the same side. A distinguishing feature of the offered mass- transfer column are contact members made in form of truncated overturned cones and providing of cones with horizontal rows of arch holes. EFFECT: higher efficiency of mass-transfer and productivity by steam phase due to provision of rotary motion of gas-liquid flow within each contact member. 3 dwg
