FIELD: metallurgy, namely apparatuses for afterburning waste gases of steel melting units. SUBSTANCE: tuyere for afterburning combustible gases in cavity of steel melting units includes concentrically arranged pipes for oxygen supply, for feeding and draining cooling agent and head with end and lateral nozzles placed inside diffuser secured by its narrowed portion to outer pipe of tuyere. Diffuser is provided with cylindrical sleeve in its upper portion. Bent blades are secured to bottom of said sleeve. Blades are arranged over each output openings of lateral nozzles and they are bent to the same side tangentially relative to surface of outer pipe. Said blades may be of refractory metal or alloy. Bodies of diffuser and sleeve are made of two concentrically arranged and mutually parallel metallic walls spaced by gap. Partition parallel to above mentioned walls is placed in said gap. Said partition provided with rigidity ribs separates gap by two mutually connected cavities. Each cavity through bottom of sleeve is joined with pipelines. Refractory coating is applied onto inner surface of diffuser. Bodies of diffuser, sleeve and blades are made of refractory material, for example of corundum, mullitocorundum or periclasochromite. Opening angle of diffuser is equal to 140-179 degrees. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of process for afterburning combustible components of atmosphere in steel melting units, enhanced efficiency of heat transfer to metal. 5 cl, 4 dwg
