FIELD: metallurgy, namely apparatuses for afterburning combustible components of atmosphere in arc steel melting furnaces. SUBSTANCE: arc steel melting furnace includes hearth, lateral walls, crown, oxygen tuyere with openings for afterburning combustible components arranged in working space of furnace through its crown and pipelines connected with said openings. Crown of furnace has opening with cylindrical upper portion and lower conical portion widened towards inner surface of crown. Body of tuyere is in the form of cylindrical sleeve with bottom in its upper portion. Pipelines are arranged tangentially relative to inner cylindrical surface of said sleeve in horizontal plane. Inner surface of tuyere nozzle is in the form of curvilinear diffuser and it is tangentially joined with cone surface of lower portion of crown opening. Body of tuyere may be metallic and water cooled or it may be of refractory material. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of process of afterburning combustible components of atmosphere in arc steel melting furnaces and enhanced efficiency of heat transfer to metal. 3 cl, 5 dwg
