FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: arc furnace contains graphite hollow electrodes, installed in openings of water cooled arch and forming high-temperature zone in working space of furnace, feeding device of sintered pellets into graphite hollow electrodes, tank of furnace with metal and slag and water-cooled tuyere with two floors of nozzles, measuring pole and temperature sensor, which is installed in furnace roof in the centre of circle, described through axis of graphite hollow electrodes. Nozzles of top floor of water-cooled tuyere are provided for feeding of oxygen for afterburning of carbonic oxide over slag, are installed angularly 30-60° to vertical line and are directed into high-temperature area between graphite hollow electrodes.
EFFECT: invention provides simultaneous implementation of metal blowing of by oxygen with afterburning of carbon monoxide over tank and continuous feeding of sintered pellets into area of high temperatures with simultaneous control of metal temperature in the direction of melting, that provides achievement of duration reduction of melting process and reduction of electricity consumption.
