FIELD: spent nuclear fuel handling. SUBSTANCE: container has metal internal and external cylindrical shells with bottoms, space between them being filled with heavy concrete. Mentioned space and container interior have sealed ceiling in the form of two covers mounted one on top of other on common base and forming with the latter two concentric pressurizing loops. Reinforcing grid is placed inside concrete filler in a spaced relation to external cylindrical shell. Grid has longitudinal and circular members joined to bottom of external shell and cover base. Shielding power sleeve is placed between grid and internal cylindrical shell in a spaced relation to the latter and is joined to base of covers and coupled to grid through rods. As an alternative, space between grid and external cylindrical shell may be filled with concrete of lower strength. EFFECT: improved design. 3 cl, 3 dwg
