FIELD: disposal of spent radioactive fuel. SUBSTANCE: container has internal and external cylindrical metal shells with bottoms; space between shells is filled with heavy reinforced concrete. High-strength shielding casing joined with metal base is mounted between reinforcing filler and inner shell. Reinforcement includes longitudinal and peripheral members constituting annular reinforcement in the form of grid. Peripheral members of one grid are joined with those of other grid by means of U-shaped members radially arranged over circumference. Anchors arranged along mentioned members and secured on metal base are placed inside concrete filler between shielding sleeve and external cylindrical shell. Desired operating reliability is attained due to retaining physical integrity of container in emergency situations. EFFECT: improved operating reliability of container. 5 cl, 4 dwg
