FIELD: gas purification. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cleaning effluent gases polluted with nitrogen monoxide leading to hothouse effect and destroying protective ozone layer. Polluted gas is passed through one or several layers of suitable catalyst, temperature of each region of catalyst layer(s), every 1-100 min (advantageously 5-60 min), being changed from 150 to 800 C (advantageously from 250 to 600 C).
