FIELD: railway transport; checking parameters of wear. SUBSTANCE: train is passed along straight standard section of track with rail line level difference in cross section to one and other side not exceeding 4 mm and, using meters rigidly secured on rail web from inner side, the following parameters are measured: wheel flange thickness, clearance between meters and generating surfaces of wheel flanges and value of displacement of corresponding wheel flange relative to side surface of rail head zones with maximum level difference, basing on which distance between wheel flanges of corresponding wheelset is calculated with due account of preset track gauge of standard section. Data obtained in checking are used as parameters of wear of running gears. EFFECT: improved reliability of checking. 3 dwg
