FIELD: mechanical engineering; engines. SUBSTANCE: method provides for delivery of preheated air and water fuel (water-fuel emulsion) into carburetor or fuel feed system. In proposed method fuel contains from 20 to 60 % of water in total amount and carbon fuel chosen from class including gasoline, diesel fuel or their mixtures. Fuel-air mixture is fed into combustion chamber or chambers where it is combusted in presence of hydrogen producing catalyst to set engine into operation. This method provides power equal approximately to that produced at combustion of equivalent amount of gasoline. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 21 cl, 17 dwg
