FIELD: quantum electronics. SUBSTANCE: device use power of acoustic wave for modulation of refraction index of linear glass fiber so that coherent light beam is output, which carrier frequency belongs to arbitrary bandwidth in which fiber attenuation is significantly low. When conversion steps frequency up, power of beam to be converted is increased. If losses are not taken into account, received gain is equal to frequency factor of output beam. In order to convert optical beams, carrier of acoustic wave is in range of 50-500 MHz. Converter is designed as glass fiber which cross section is decreased along spreading of acoustic wave. EFFECT: acoustic wave is used for pumping. 2 dwg
