FIELD: mechanical engineering; longitudinal metal cutting and grinding. SUBSTANCE: the proposed method involves measuring the part to be machined, comparing the obtained values with the design dimensions and applying additional force in function of deviation of the compared data. For this purpose electrical current is passed through the part to be machined and a magnetic field is created. The source of the magnetic field is oriented so that the magnetic flux is perpendicular to the axis of the part to be machined and to the direction of the predetermined resultant of tangential and radial components of cutting force. The magnitude of additional force action is changed by varying the magnitude of current passed through the part or by varying the intensity of the magnetic flux. EFFECT: improved efficiency. 3 dwg
