FIELD: mechanical engineering; machining of precision workpieces with high requirements to accuracy of location and shape of surface. SUBSTANCE: spindle runout measurements are carried out to five-time repetition of period of first periodical component of runout. Value of runout stroke is divided into intervals. Field of tolerance of runout is also divided into the same number of intervals. Numbers of spindle revolutions are found and are divided into the same number of intervals. All intervals are brought into conformity. Surface layer is cut off on workpieces whose tolerance interval corresponds to period of operation of machine tool according to interval of spindle revolution numbers and spindle runout interval.
