FIELD: metallurgy; applicable in manufacture of rails. SUBSTANCE: invention offers rails made of high-strength bainitic steel featuring high resistance to surface fatigue failure and to wear of rail heads for railroads operating under heavy loads. High-strength bainitic steel featuring high resistance to fatigue failure and to wear consists at least partially of bainitic structure. In this case, full area occupied by carbides, whose longitudinal axes are from 100 to 1000 nm in cross-section of said bainitic structure, is from 10 to 50%. EFFECT: increased wear resistance of rails due to production of steel with carbide inclusions of indicated size. 4 cl, 6 dwg, 2 tbl
