SUBSTANCE: method of improving processing of images of a wide dynamic range, in which a processor is used to input an image in a linear color space of RGB; generating a first image in the LMS color space by applying to the RGB color conversion image input to the LMS; nonlinear function is applied to each component of color of the first image to generate color components of the second image in nonlinear LMS color space and generating the output image in the ICtCp color space by applying 3x3 color conversion matrix to the color components of the second image.
EFFECT: technical result is improved backward compatibility.
