FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves determining endogenous complement level in blood serum and diluting it to complement level of 1-2 hemolyzing doses, introducing 50-100 antitoxic doses of antitoxic antidiphteria serum. After thermostating at 37 C during 1 h, endogenous complement level delay is determined from catalase activity of lyzed erythrocyte introduced into reaction mixture in combination with 10 hemolyzing doses of anti-erythrocyte serum. EFFECT: enhanced reliability in detecting exotoxin presence in blood serum. 1 tbl
