FIELD: plastic coatings. SUBSTANCE: in the process of covering sheet objects with plastic film, the latter is heated using a flat heater the size of the film surface being heated. Distance between film and heater is maintained constant during heating. As binder, thermosetting material is used. Heater is installed in upper part of space formed by side and upper parts of heating bell. Plastic film to be heated is placed in close vicinity to lower edge of side parts of heating bell. When being heated, film is supported by way of aspirating air through channels in side parts resulting in pressing film to lower part of side parts of bell. Heated air in the heater space is renewed through vent holes in upper part when object is coated. Heater surface temperature is maintained on the level of 200 to 300 C (4-10 mcm wavelength). Plastic film heating is resumed when film is being pressed to surface of object being coated. Heater is made as two-part sheet heating element. Apparatus is provided with means to maintain constant distance between film and heater in the heating procedure. Heating plate includes heat resistors attached to its surface opposite to film-coated surface. This side of heater emits little heat as compared to opposite side. Heat resistors are mounted in grooves between the two parts of heater. Inner surfaces of side and upper parts of heating bell are made of bright material to reduce heat absorption. EFFECT: facilitated film coating application. 12 cl, 2 dwg
