FIELD: power engineering, more particularly as radiation resistant high-temperature dielectric heat transfer carriers. SUBSTANCE: heat- transfer carrier is prepared by direct catalytic chlorination of 1-phenylxylylethane in the presence of adsorbent catalyst for protective coatings of alumosilcate rock in amount of 1.0-12% by weight of reaction mixture at 5-90 C, chlorine feed rate of 0.1-2.1 moles per mole of phenylsilylethane. Chlorination time is 0.5-12 h and at atmospheric pressure. EFFECT: more efficient preparation method.
