METHOD FOR VERIFICATION OF HOPPER SCALES Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: weight measuring technology. SUBSTANCE: hopper scales are verified by comparing the mass placed into scales with the reading of the scale. The mass of the load placed onto the scales is changed by pouring loose material into the hopper. Change of the scales readings is determined, when in specified reference points the scales are loaded with reference weight. In the course of loading the scales with loose material, readings of the scales in reference points shall successively be equal to definite part of the mass of the reference weight. For each reference point change of load on the scales is calculated, which corresponds to the change of the scales reading by the value of the mass of the reference weight. Mass of load placed on the scales is determined for different reference points according to mathematical dependences. Accuracy of the scales verification is improved due to decrease of intervals between reference points and corresponding lowering of error in the intervals of readings between the reference points. EFFECT: improved accuracy of scales.
