FIELD: examination of dynamically complex systems, for example, of oscillograph galvanometers. SUBSTANCE: relative coefficient γ₂ of damping is determined by frequencies and corresponding to maximum values of real and imaginary components of rate of movement of system with its harmonic excitation in range of natural frequencies fixed on amplitude-phase frequency characteristic. Calculation of γ_r is performed in agreement with formula . Method can be applied to examination of such system of moving objects in which measurement of movement is difficult technically or impossible.
