FIELD: catalysts for petrochemical processes. SUBSTANCE: catalyst composed of (in wt %): nickel oxide, 10-15; tungsten oxide, 4-8; tin, 0.4-2; zeolite, 3-7; chlorine, 1-5; and alumina, 63-81.6 is prepared by way of successively modifying aluminum hydroxide, continuous precipitation by chlorine, tin, silicon oxide, tungsten oxide, and triethylene glycol, extrusion shaping, drying, calcination, and subsequently impregnating modified zeolite- containing oxide-type carrier prepared as described above with nickel nitrate aqueous solution followed by drying and calcination. EFFECT: increased catalytic activity when hydrogenating mono-, bi-, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. 2 cl, 2 tbl
