FIELD: sealing revolving shafts of machines and mechanisms. SUBSTANCE: body of seal is provided with fixed friction ring. Shaft is provided with supporting pressure unit made in form of drive and driven members with axial spring in between them; end coils of spring are not ground. Direction of spring coiling is opposite relative to sense of rotation of shaft which presses revolving ring to fixed one. Surfaces of drive and driven members directed towards axial spring are made in form of right helicoid at pitch corresponding to pitch of end coils and are engageable with it.
