SUBSTANCE: method involves selecting plant samples without disturbing plant integrity; preparing samples by placing samples into dark chamber under conditions providing preservation of turgor; separating chloroplasts upon activation of photosynthesis apparatus; suspending and determining content of chloroplasts in samples by optical density of suspension; measuring intensity of variable and slowed fluorescence in suspensions, which had been preliminarily treated to have equal content of chloroplasts; considering activity of photosynthesis apparatus of plants by obtained results.
