FIELD: railway transport; power equipment of two-unit diesel locomotives or two paired single-unit diesel locomotives designed for hauling non-self- propelled track machines requiring high tractive efforts and automatically maintaining slow speed at maximum tractive power. SUBSTANCE: traction motors of diesel locomotives are connected in pairs into groups. Switchgroups in circuit of series-connected traction motors consists of power diode connected by anode to traction generator and by cathode, to first group of locomotive traction motors, and also control thyristor switches placed between groups of traction motors of both units of diesel locomotive. Switchgroups in parallel connection circuit of traction motors are made in form of power diodes connected by anodes between common points of traction motor groups of both units of diesel locomotive, and by cathodes to traction and power supply generators, respectively. Traction generator field regulator is coupled with diesel locomotive master controller to provide changing over traction generator polarity. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of operation. 2 dwg
