FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises setting rpm of heat engine driving traction generator, measuring the position of fuel feed proportioner complying with heat engine current rpm. Said position of fuel feed proportioner is set to vary with preset rpm and heat engine load. Traction generator voltage is measured to vary its excitation current. Additionally, skid voltage is measured in every circuit of traction motors connected in series. Signals proportional to skid voltage of traction motors are compared to preset skid voltage setting. Comparison results are used to isolate skid signal to set traction motor circuit voltage at availability of skid signal. Current setting is compared with signal proportional to measured current in traction motor no-skid circuit. Comparison results are used to generate traction generator voltage setting signal proportional to current in traction motor no-skid circuit. In case signal is available testifying to joint skid of two traction motor circuits, signal proportional to maximum voltage of power input is isolated and taken to make traction generator voltage setting.

EFFECT: higher traction of shunting diesel locomotive and its efficiency.
