FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: gear to feed melt in plant for continuous casting of aluminium has runner 1, feeding nozzle built into runner where stopper 3 to control feed of melt 4 is inserted and system controlling position of stopper within boundaries specified in advance. Stopper 3 is held in zone of narrowest cross-section of nozzle at constant distance from wall of nozzle. Cross-section of nozzle inlet is continuously diminishing to middle of nozzle. Difference of angles between side wall of nozzle of ring space D of nozzle and stopper amounts to 1-3 deg. End of stopper located near inlet of nozzle has closing edge which shuts inlet for melt in case of complete downing of stopper. EFFECT: increased functional reliability of gear. 4 cl, 11 dwg
