FIELD: mechanical engineering; soldering of metal articles with cellular structure which are coiled, arranged in layers or formed by partially structurized layers of metal sheets to be soldered on separated sections. SUBSTANCE: according to proposed method layers of metal sheets are covered with thin layer of rolling oil if they have not been coated with oil in process of their production. Rolling oil layer is thermally treated to evacuate easily voltage components, and layer of surface active substance in form of water solution is applied to metal sheets. Members are brought in contact with powder solder which sticks to places where remnants of rolling oil and surface active substance are left. Device for implementing the method has heating unit for heating the member for thermal treatment of oil layer, unit for application of water solution of surface active substance, unit for drying members in air stream, and solder application unit made for delivery of gas creating fluidized layer. EFFECT: reduced consumption of solder, provision of high quality soldered joints for catalyst carrier bodies in vehicles. 26 cl, 7 dwg
