FIELD: powder metallurgy; production of aluminum powder. SUBSTANCE: aluminum particles are ground in flowing atmosphere of nitrogen containing from 2 to 8% of oxygen. In this case, supplied continuously to circulating flow of gas is air in the amount of 0.05-0.25 n.cu.m. per kilogram of powder loaded into mill. Air is supplied to that point of flow where oxygen content is minimum. In so doing, air volume is supplied 2 times as low as that of circulating gas. Air is supplied to the system to fan intake. EFFECT: reduced consumption of nitrogen for aluminum powder production. 1 dwg
