METHOD OF PLACING LINEN OF CONVERTER Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention focuses on processes of vertical torch placing of linen. Method includes reciprocation of placing lance along the height of furnace laboratory of vertically arranged converter with velocity 0.15-0.25 m/min and delivery through its nozzles placing mass mixed with oxygen. Before the beginning of process, 8000-12000 cu.m of pure oxygen is fed through nozzles of placing lance, while placing lance is displaced down and up with velocity 0.15-0.25 m/min. When placing lance is up, 600-900 kg/min of placing mass and 14000-18000 cu.m/min of oxygen are fed. Then placing lance undergoes discrete reciprocation with velocity 0.05-0.2 m/min and 8-12-sec pauses after each displacement over the distance equal to 0.02-0.03 complete vertical travel of placing lance.
