FIELD: metallurgy, in particular, processes of slagging the converter refractory lining to increase its stability. SUBSTANCE: method includes tapping of melt from converter with leaving slag in it and supply to converter walls of liquid slag layer. After tapping of melt from converter, introduced through throat its tuyere through which neutral gas is supplied with flow rate of 1-4 cu.m/min per ton of steel for 1-8 min. Tuyere is reciprocated in vertical direction from maximum distance from the level of steel bath in preceding heat equalling 80-150 calibers of tuyere nozzles to minimal value of the same distance equalling 1-40 calibers of tuyere nozzles. Ratio of values of tuyere speed of lowering and lifting is preset within 1.1-80.
