FIELD: metallurgy, treatment of melts with elastic vibrations, for example, ultrasonic ones, refining of metals. SUBSTANCE: process includes melting of metal, its crystallization and ultrasonic treatment that is conducted with excitation of alternating stresses not below yield point of treated metal. In agreement with first version ultrasonic treatment is carried out during crystallization of ingot. According to second version it is conducted after completion of crystallization of ingot in process of its cooling. EFFECT: increased physical homogeneity by elimination of polygonization boundaries with preservation of initial purity or prevention of their formation. 2 cl
