FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves picking apart linen filaments in direction transverse to tape made from these filaments and simultaneously compressing tape at uniform distance from picking apart station. Prior to stapling procedure, filaments are subjected in alternation to crumpling and reciprocating shifting of filaments transverse to tape. EFFECT: increased quality of filaments by reduced density, uniform length and width and improved cleaning of filaments from nonfibrous contaminants. 2 cl, 1 dwg
