FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has frame, fiber clamping unit made in the form of feeding shaft with key-type levers pressed to shaft, and defibrating devices made in the form of disks mounted on shaft at pitch depending on length of produced fiber. Disks are introduced into spaces between levers. Side blades are fixed circumferentially on disks in equally spaced relation. Side blades are inclined in direction of rotation of disks or may be made in the form of needle-type planks. Apparatus is used for producing stapled linen fiber from mixture of linen and wool, as well as with cotton and chemical fibers. Such construction improves quality of stapled fibers by intensified cleaning of fibers from contaminants. EFFECT: simplified construction and increased efficiency. 3 cl, 5 dwg _
