FIELD: production of stapled flax filament, in particular, manufacture of yarn from mixture of flax with wool or cotton or chemical filaments. SUBSTANCE: machine has working chamber, at least two scutching drums positioned within working chamber housing. Scutching drum has beating planks. Scutching drums are synchronically rotating in one direction. One end surface of housing is provided with filament supplying slots, and housing side surface is provided with discharge opening for air-and-fiber mixture. Radial beating planks are positioned in succession on each scutching drum in two planes parallel one with another and perpendicular to axes of rotation. Such construction prevents filament from winding onto working tools. EFFECT: improved quality of filament by providing uniform length of filaments and enhanced reliability in operation. 4 dwg
