FIELD: building industry, more particularly treatment of solid waste, more particularly gold ash waste for thermal electric stations. SUBSTANCE: blend comprises (wt %): 5.0-41.0 (total): 4.0-13.0 CaO (free); 13.0-75.0 SiO2; 5.0-26.0 Al2O3; 3.0-8.0 carbon; 1.0-24.0 Fe2O3; 2.0-6.0 MgO 0.1-1.0 Na2O 0.2-1.0 R2O; 0.1-0.6 SO3; 0.2 TiO2. The blend is heated to melting temperature and is melted in reducing atmosphere. The resulting melt is cooled by "thermal shock" to form porous structure of glass material in controllable gas medium stream. "Thermal shock" is carried out by contacting melt with aqueous salt solution in alkaline medium. Salts are soluble copper salts having Cu2+-ion concentration of 0.5-1.0 g/ion/l, and pH of the solution is maintained within 12-13 during "thermal shock". EFFECT: improved service properties of porous glass materials.
