FIELD: heat-insulating glass materials. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing the porous glass materials (filled density is 45-100 kg/m3) from the open-hearth furnace slags that involves preparing the charge consisting of the following oxides: SiO2, CaO, Al2O3, MgO, Fe2O3, Na2O, K2O, TiO2, FeO, MnO, P2O5. Then the content of SiO2 in the charge is brought about to the mass ratio SiO2/CaO = 1-2 and melted in the reductive medium. Then silicate moiety of the melt is cooled in regime "thermoimpact". Obtained glass material has no hydrogen sulfide emission. EFFECT: broadened possibility of the open-hearth furnace slags as building and filtering materials.
