FIELD: powder metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method includes heating of powder material based on zirconium oxide to preset temperature and holding at this temperature for time sufficient for caking. Heating and holding of powder material are carried out in nitrogen-containing plasma of gas discharge. Powder material is heated for bombarding with nitrogen-containing ions and also ion current passing through it. EFFECT: higher level of mechanical characteristics of produced ceramics. 1 tbl
