FIELD: metallurgy, more specifically, steel melting in converter. SUBSTANCE: the offered method includes supply of scrap to converter, pouring of liquid iron into it, blowing of melt with oxygen from atop through lance, and also, supply to converter of mixture of slag-forming additives based on lime. Slag-forming additives are used in form of burnt mixture of lime and converter slag with consumption of 20-100 kg per ton of steel with converter slag portion in the mixture within 5-30 wt.%. 20-60 wt.% of mixture is supplied to converter before pouring of iron, and the remaining part is supplied in course of melt blowing up to expiration of 85-95% of blowing total time. EFFECT: higher output of converter and provision of processing of irons with low content of manganese. 1 tbl
