SUBSTANCE: apparatus has crystallizer with two reciprocating vertical walls and two walls with inclined upper part, which are positioned for rotation. Detachable faceplates with inclined and vertical portions are fixed to inner surfaces of walls with inclined upper part. Two thermocouples are arranged over height of inclined portions of faceplates. Ratio of distance from zone, where thermocouples are fixed, to surface of one faceplate adjoining molten metal, and the same distance of opposite faceplate ranges between 0.4 and 0.5.
