SUBSTANCE: vaccine corresponds to actual virus A/Johannesburg/33/94 (H3N2) by its antigenic properties. Vaccine strain A/47/Johannesburg/94/1 is a reassortant and obtained by breeding epidemic virus A/Johannesburg/3/94 (H3N2) with cold-adapted temperature-sensitive virus A/Leningrad/134/17/57 (H2N2) as an attenuation donor. Strain is harmless for adult and children. Strain A/17/Johannesburg/94/1 is actively multiplied in developing chicken embryos at optimal temperature 32-34 C and shows temperature-sensitivity and cold-adaptability. Reassortant inherited two genes encoding surface proteins (hemagglutinin and neuraminidase) from epidemic virus and six mutant genes encoding nonglycosylated proteins from attenuation donor. Strain A/17/Johannesburg/94/1 (H3N2) is areactogenic for adult (18-20 years age) at intranasal route of administration. Vaccine strain A/17/Johannesburg/94/1 corresponds to requirements by its biological property and reactogenicity index. EFFECT: strain indicated above. 1 tbl
