METHOD OF LAYING CONTINUOUS WELDED RAIL LENGTHS Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

Abstract RU 2112102 C1

FIELD: railway transport; laying, repair and maintenance of rail tracks. SUBSTANCE: rail length and adjoining equalizing rails are placed on rail base to provided elongation of rail length to designed value. One end of rail length and adjoining equalizing rails are connected to each other and to rail base and rail adjoining second end of rail length is loaded by vertical load providing shift stability of rail length in longitudinal direction and stops to apply longitudinal force are connected to second end of rail length and adjoining equalizing rail and longitudinal force Np, is applied to second end of rail length and adjoining equalizing rail required and sufficient to provide designed elongation and then elongated rail length and adjoining equalizing rail are rigidly connected to each other, longitudinal acting force is removed, rail length is connected to rail base on remaining length and fishplates-stops are connected to second end of rail length and adjoining equalizing rails. Fishplates-stops are secured through bolt holes. Prior to removing longitudinal acting force, second end of rail length is loaded with vertical acting load P2, whose value is found from formula P2= k•Ny where k is longitudinal shift coefficient of rail base relative to ballast Ny is longitudinally acting force providing designed elongation of rail length. After removal of longitudinal acting force fishplates-stops are replaced by typical fishplates and rail length is secured on rail base on remaining length and then vertically acting loads acting on ends of rail length are removed. EFFECT: preservation of obtained designed elongation of rail length without replacement of equalizing rail adjoining the second end of rail length. 5 dwg
