FIELD: railway track investigation procedures. SUBSTANCE: this relates to railway track structure. According to method, successively applied to sleeper under test are forces Q1, Q2 ... Qmax within preset range, then successively measured are displacements X1, X2 ... Xmax of sleeper under test. Prior to application of forces, single sectional-type rail chair is placed between each rail of operated track and sleeper under test. One part of each composition chair is secured to rail, and other part of each sectional-type rail chair is attached to sleeper. Simultaneously with measuring each displacement of sleeper under test, calculated is number of axles n1, n2 ... nmax of trains travelled on track during period of acting of each value of force Q1 applied to sleeper. Determined is intensity of displacement of IQ1, IQ2 . . . IQmax for each value of force and action of running trains, and according to aforesaid relations determined is value of railway track lateral displacement. Application of aforesaid method allows for higher accuracy in determining lateral displacement of railway track. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 dwg, 2 tbl
