FIELD: railway transportation.
SUBSTANCE: method of replacing the welded railway sections involves the following jobs. After laying the end of the welded section on the base when moving devices are stopped, the rails to be replaces are cut out along the cross-section perpendicular to the line and at a distance from the said end defined from the formula depending upon the designed elongation of the railway section and upon the designed railway section elongation factor defined empirically. Then, the rail ends cut out are moved to the position parallel to the line axis.
EFFECT: higher efficiency method resulted from reduction of labor input and smaller breaks in the railway traffic.
