FIELD: polishing compositions and methods for elimination of scratches and other defects from various plastic surfaces. SUBSTANCE: each polishing composition includes solid polishing material, water and organic solvent containing undercane or any other equivalent solvent. Composition also includes stabilizer such as carnauba wax for maintaining other ingredients in state of suspension or in state of mutual mixing. Polishing compositions are applied with the help of polishing pads made of various materials including open-pore polyurethane, wool with thick hairs, cotton or synthetic materials. Compositions are applied manually or with the help of manual rotary, orbital or vibrating polishing machine. All these compositions are compatible with existing machines for elimination of scratches such as machine-robots used for reconditioning of aircraft windows.
