FIELD: mechanical engineering; production of multiple-core metal composite superconducting articles. SUBSTANCE: blank to be welded is made in form of bundle of hexagonal rods containing superconducting fibers dispersed in matrix made from normally conducting material, for instance, copper based alloys, arranged close to each other in tubular lining made of normally conducting material. Yield point of material is 0.27-0.43 of yield point of rod matrix. Assembled blank is installed coaxially inside steel tube. Matrix linear expansion temperature coefficient is 1.01-1.72 of steel tube material linear expansion temperature coefficient. Welding process is carried out at speed of explosive charge detonation equal to 2900-4000 m/s and ratio of specific weight of explosive to sum of specific weights of steel tube and tubular lining equal to 0.15-0.23. After welding temperature treatment is carried out for 0.5-1.0 h at a temperature equal to 0.5-0.8 of melting temperature of hexagonal rod matrix material.
