FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: according to method, driven from lateral development working and district crosscuts before coming of longwall are rings of bore-holes in side rock matter with bringing work faces of bore-holes in staggered order to floor of coal seam in area of conveyor through-cut. Rings of bore-holes in district crosscuts are located at both sides of underground working, and from lateral development working, aforesaid rings of bore-holes are located only on coal seam side. After that, injected into bore-holes in one row is air for pressing on coal seam, and radon is withdrawn from other row of bore-hole. When longwall approaches work face of bore-hole to 3-5 m, coal seam is ventilated with air from all bore-holes through fissures in zone of maximal pressing of coal, and air is delivered through bore-holes to work face space until longwall comes in. In withdrawing gas, installed in starting end of bore-holes are fabric filters for catching radon destruction particles with subsequent burying of filters. In result of application of aforesaid method, radon emanation is constantly neutralized in larger part of seam before extraction of coal and during its extraction. This substantially improves safety of operations and reduces influence of mining development activities on environment with taking accounts of burying particles of destructed radon.
